Alpha Pi Epsilon Chapter

  • Chartered in 2008 with nine original members, the Alpha Pi Epsilon Chapter continues to be a robust presence on campus and in the community, inducting between 10-15 new members annually.
  • The chapter hosts bi-monthly TED Talk discussions, monthly activities, and participates in university sponsored events like the Great Race and the Homecoming activities.
  • We take several students to the international Sigma Tau Delta research conference/convention held around the United States each year during the Spring Semester.
  • The chapter is part of the worldwide Little Free Library project and manages three Little Free Libraries in the community: Nisson Park (Washington City), Vernon Worthen Park (St. George City); Firehouse Park (St. George City).
  • The chapter members maintain and run pop-up Poetry Pharmacy stands and “prescribe” poetry to campus and community members both in-person at our stands and also via e-mail at PoetryPharmacy@utahtech.edu. This poetry initiative is based on the work of William Sieghart and his book The Poetry Pharmacy: Tried-and-True Prescriptions for the Heart, Mind and Soul as well as on his TED Talk “The Healing Power of Poetry.” For more information on the Poetry Pharmacies, please send an e-mail to PoetryPharmacy@utahtech.edu or to Ami.Comeford@utahtech.edu.
