I love teaching. I have taught at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa; Tonji University in Shanghai, China; and Boise State University, in Boise, Idaho. I have taught a variety of courses, ranging from various composition courses, to the Rhetoric of Science, to Technical Writing, to Pre-Service Teachers Seminars. I joined Utah Tech University in 2019. My specialty is writing pedagogy, and I consider each semester to be an adventure with new students and their unique worldviews, past experiences, and voices.

My research interests include learning transfer, the process by which people adapt what they learn to new and different situations, and I am always eager to facilitate the very best learning for each individual. I enjoy seeing students gain confidence in their knowledge and skills. The students at Utah Tech University are great, and I admire the way they face challenges for their educational goals.

My husband and I refined our home-building skills by building a home in New Harmony, a picturesque little town about 40 miles north of St. George. We have six children and eight grandchildren who like to visit us regularly. We also enjoy the company of one dog, five chickens, and three goats (so far). I like to spend time with my family, explore museums and national parks, and take in theater productions.
